Overview: Australia is the smallest of the 7 continents and includes Oceania. Oceania is considered as yet another small sized continent that the geography experts now jointly define as Australia/Oceania. Collectively it combines all of Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, as well as the thousands of coral atolls and volcanic islands of the South Pacific Ocean. Australia’s capital is Canberra. Its largest city is Sydney, closely followed in population by Melbourne.

Languages Spoken: English, French, Melanesian pidgin, Melanesian-Polynesian Languages. Learning the appropriate language for a study abroad program is helpful for candidates applying for summer study abroad programs or study abroad scholarships.

Education System Information for study abroad candidates:

Tertiary or higher education in Australia is made up of universities and other higher education institutions called higher education providers. The provider is approved by the Australian Government before it can receive grants or its students, under study abroad programs or study abroad scholarship programs, can receive assistance from the Australian Government .

A higher education provider is either a university, self-accrediting provider, or non self-accrediting provider. The non-self-accrediting higher education providers form a very diverse group of specialised, mainly private, providers that range in size and include theological colleges and other providers that offer courses for study abroad programs in areas such as business, information technology, natural therapies, hospitality, health, law and accounting.

Eligibility Criteria – Exams to clear for study abroad programs : :

One has to give various tests to apply for study abroad programs. You will have to take at least one of the English proficiency test along with Graduate and Undergraduate Test for admission to any program. English Proficiency Tests like TOEFL, TSE and IELTS are to be cleared for study abroad programs. GMAT is required for study abroad Business/Management Programs all over the world.

SAT and ACT required for study abroad Undergraduate Level (Bachelor Degree Programs). For study abroad Graduate Level (Master’s & Doctoral Degree Programs), GRE General and GRE Subjects are required to be cleared.
