Overview: Africa is the second largest continent in the world and has 5 different conveniently divided regions as the East, West, North, Southern and Central Africa. From the Sahara Desert to Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa is continent of extremes. Some areas have tremendous natural resources while other areas are barren. It is the second most populous content, home to roughly 12 percent of all humans or 840 million people.
Languages of Africa: about thousand languages classified in four major language families:
Afro-Asiatic (e.g. Berber lang), Nilo-Saharan, Niger-Congo (Bantu), and Khoi-San. Learning the appropriate language for a study abroad program is helpful for candidates applying for summer study abroad programs or study abroad scholarships.

Education in Africa is still less developed than other parts of the world, and many African countries have low rates of participation.
Specialized colleges or schools, such as vocational/technical colleges, can offer the Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) or a Bachelor of Science degree (BS) to study abroad candidates . Technical schools prepare study abroad students for entry-level employment, self-employment, and continued career training or retraining. Additionally, they may offer study abroad programs that do not necessarily take four years to complete. Universities typically include a liberal arts college and several other specialized colleges for the study abroad candidates, such as business or medicine.

The individual colleges have their own set of entrance requirements for freshmen and students under study abroad programs. Universities may also offer programs at the graduate level, leading to the MS/MA, Ph.D., LL.D., or MD.
One has to give various tests to apply for study abroad programs. You will have to take at least one of the English proficiency test along with Graduate and Undergraduate Test for admission to any program. English Proficiency Tests like TOEFL, TSE and IELTS are to be cleared for study abroad programs. GMAT is required for study abroad Business/Management Programs all over the world.
