The Pentecost Reunion – What Actually Occurred

Divided tongues as of fire appeared and rested on each of them.
All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues (languages) as the Spirit enabled them.
Reaction of the Crowd:
A large crowd was present in Jerusalem for the festival. They were astonished to hear the disciples speaking in their own native languages.
People from various regions and backgrounds—Parthians, Medes, Elamites, residents of Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia, Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, parts of Libya, visitors from Rome, Cretans, and Arabs—heard the disciples declaring the wonders of God in their own languages.
Peter’s Sermon:
Some in the crowd were amazed and perplexed, while others mocked the disciples, saying they were drunk.
Peter stood up with the eleven apostles and addressed the crowd, explaining that they were not drunk but filled with the Holy Spirit.
He quoted the prophet Joel, who had foretold that God would pour out His Spirit on all people.
Peter proclaimed the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ, urging the crowd to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus for the forgiveness of their sins.
Conversion of the Believers:
Peter’s message resonated deeply with the people, and about 3,000 individuals accepted his message and were baptized that day.
